OPEL Technologies is the developer of the planar optoelectronic technology (POET) semiconductor process, which fuses electronic and optical devices on a single chip, using a proprietary monolithic fabrication process.
Already demonstrated in numerous devices, including sensors, thyristors, lasers and modulators - and used as the platform for ongoing development of military and aerospace applications, including infrared sensor arrays and ultra-low-power random access memory for NASA and other agencies - POET has the potential to propel the semiconductor industry into the next of iteration of Moore’s Law.
With 36 patents issued and 6 patents pending for its POET process, OPEL’s proprietary POET platform enables high-speed and power-efficient applications for numerous commercial verticals including servers, tablet computers and smartphones.
