Offbeat Guides makes customized travel guides with up-to-date information related to your trip. After a user enters answers to 5 questions (name, home town, destination, travel dates and where they are staying), Offbeat guides creates a personalized guide for the user’s trip using data from both open (wikipedia, wikitravel, Flickr and Google Maps) and proprietary sources. Guides can be purchased in two formats - full color printed guides are available for $24.95 or downloadable guides in PDF format can be had for $9.95. Guides include maps, events in the city you are visiting when you’re there, the most current exchange rates, key phrases in the city’s language, a weather forecast based on your travel dates and much more.

Offbeat Guides was founded by Dave Sifry, who previously founded Technorati.
