OCLC

OCLC is the world’s largest, non-profit, cooperative of libraries. It facilitates library cooperation in cataloging, inter-library loan, virtual reference, digital archiving, and other services. Host of the Dewey Decimal Classification and of the world’s largest union catalog of library bibliographic data (known as WorldCat and available in several forms including, a freely-accessible version at http://www.worldcat.org/), OCLC is also host to OCLC Research, a leading applied research center for libraries, museums, archives, and other cultural heritage institutions.
