Founded in July 2007, Nibea is a website builder that allows users to just “play” and not have to think about coding. Because Nibea does not use templates, it is more like a true desktop designer. Although it is powered by Adobe Flex, Nibea produces full HTML in an integrated design and hosting environment.
Nibea is fully drag and drop, does layering and transparency of anything, has a built-in photo editor, built-in font graphics creator, personal color palettes, easy web widget integration, concurrent multi-page editing, online backups and a number of other features.
Nibea’s engine is designed to enable new features quickly and can leverage most existing web widgets and technologies. With the release of our public beta, we’re collecting user enhancement requests, fixing bugs (inevitable), and laying out plans for a long list of enhancements (feature upgrades, new features, additional help pages and videos to educate our users). Major upcoming new features include a published API for developers to integrate widgets into Nibea, tighter integration with Google Apps and OpenSocial, advanced graphics creation for basic users and a couple of really big features we cannot share publicly just yet.
Nibea opened up a public beta in July 2008 and has both free and pro accounts.
