NewsWhip tracks how fast news stories spread through the social web.

NewsWhip is a technology platform that tracks shares, tweets, and other social activities around 60,000 English-language news stories each day, and ranks the stories based on how fast they spread through the billion users of social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

It categorizes also the stories, and builds a real-time ranking of how fast they are spreading against other stories in topics such as fashion, business strategy, sports, politics, and gossip. Users of NewsWhip.com may also filter for various regions, namely the U.S., Canada, U.K, India, Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

NewsWhip is based in the NDRC, in Dublin, Ireland, and is part of the Launchpad accelerator program there.
