NewsCred is a digital newspaper that allows its users to read all the world’s credible news in one place. The NewsCred community then votes on the credibility of articles, journalists and news sources.
NewsCred collects data on three dimensions: article, author, and source. NewsCred’s algorithms then present the news based on quality, not popularity. The NewsCred Analytics Module keeps an online track record of journalists and news sources, and tracks industry credibility trends over time.
NewsCred was founded in summer 2007, and is based in Switzerland, Sweden and Bangladesh.
After three months of Private Alpha testing, NewsCred launched its public beta on August 19th, 2008.
