Naviance’s web-based software as a service platform provides students with a variety of features, including college research and matching tools, course planning, career assessment and personality tests, and surveys to help students connect what they’re doing in school to what they’d like to do once they complete their education.
Its planning and advising products enable counselors, teachers, and other educators in secondary schools to manage the course, college, and career advising process; communicate with parents, students, and colleagues; and analyze data about student achievement and outcomes. The company also offers higher education admissions professionals a platform for announcing changes in deadlines, mailing addresses, and other information in admissions process. In addition, it offers services for higher education institutions that simplify the process of providing up-to-date information to secondary school counselors to support the college admission process. The company also operates online community of counseling professionals. It serves counselors, teachers, administrators, and technology professionals, as well as students and parents.
The company was founded in 2002 and is based in Arlington, Virginia with a western regional office in Oakland, California. As of June 25, 2007, Naviance, Inc. is a subsidiary of Hobsons, Inc.
In February 2012, Naviance acquired PrepMe, an adaptive learning solution for PSAT, SAT and ACT test preparation.
