Much Better Adventures - finding the best independent and locally owned adventure tourism companies in the world, and rewarding ethical practice.
The site connects adventure seekers directly to local places to stay, guides and instructors.
It was recently voted ‘One of the Best Travel Websites Ever’ in the Guardian and endorsed by the BBC, Mashable and The Independent.
We are working in collaboration with leading names in the sustainability and travel sectors to tackle 3 problems:
1) the time, difficulty and expense faced by small local businesses trying to compete online,
2) the resultant difficulties faced by independent adventure seekers wanting to find and book with them,
3) the widespread problems of greenwash and ‘green fatigue’ among both consumers and industry.
It’s our own little fight against the impersonal, mass produced and green washed ‘adventure’ packages that are forever being thrown at us, like there is no alternative.
Features include the adventure travel directory; holiday discounts; traveller reviews, the community ‘Grapevine’, monthly adventure magazine, muchbetter ambassadors and the ‘Join Us’ campaign to encourage community suggestions - uncovering those great travel choices that you otherwise struggle to find.
