Moteiv was featured in the September issue of Wired Magazine. The company’s miniature wireless sensors can do things like monitor the condition and location of firefighters as they work in high-rise buildings, part of a program called FIRE.
The sensors relay information to an incident commander, and is channeled to a head-mounted display in each firefighter’s mask — giving them access to the same information and better than muffled radio instructions. According to the company, the Chicago Fire Department is working with Moteiv and UC Berkeley engineers.
