Monster.com is a publicly traded (MWW) employment website that came about in 1999 as the result of a merger between Monster Board and the Online Career Center. The site has one of the largest employment related databases with over 70 million stored resumes and over 1 million job postings at any given time.

Monster has a market capitalization of over $1.6 Billion as of June 2009.

Monster’s closest competitors include CareerBuilder, Craigslist, and Yahoo’s HotJobs.
