Mixer Labs is the company behind GeoAPI.com, a powerful location engine for developers, and TownMe, a new local information site.
TownMe’s mission is to bring all the world’s local information and relationships online. TownMe’s goal is to show your town, online.
Mixer Labs also powers a GeoAPI which provides location as a service. The GeoAPI includes: -Reverse Geocoder -16 million business listings and points of interest (with rich per location data) -Writable layer - each developer can add their own annotation of places and entities and do complex geo-queries against this information.
You can access it via http://api.townme.com, http://geoapi.com or http://sexyapi.com

The Mixerlabs GeoAPI provides application developers with the ability to query the world.
GeoAPI services include a reverse geocoder; deep data about 16 million businesses and tens of thousands of points of interest; a writable layer for developers to annotate the world and do complex geo-queries; and location-enabled media layers (e.g., Twitter and Flickr). GeoAPI also recently added an iPhone SDK to speed up mobile development.
The GeoAPI makes it fast and easy for developers to generate a variety of location services (e.g. everything from annotation of tweets with nearby points of interest to FourSquare/GoWalla/Brightkite style check-in apps).
