Minekey is an online content discovery and recommendation site. The core of Minekey’s service is to provide tools for publishers, marketers and retailers to earn more revenue and improve user experiences at the same time.

They are able to do this by providing relevant information to whatever target audiences may be with the use of its widget. This Recommendation Widget shows each site visitor personalized and related information based on what they’re currently reading as well as their previous reading behavior. In an effort to tame down information overload, the hope of Minekey is to offer the perfect content to every reader on the site.

The Minekey widget currently works with TypePad and Blogger platforms, but will soon offer more sharing options, to be placed on social networks like MySpace. iThink, Minekey’s flagship product, is an opinion sharing application for social networks. Currently the second most popular application in the politics category on Facebook, iThink is also available on Friendster. With iThink, users can share their opinions about anything from politics, sports, entertainment, food and more.

Minekey is a Silicon Valley based start up with a development office in Delhi and an R&D team on campus at IIT Kharagpur in India.

Competitors include Wunderloop, Loomia, and Aggregate Knowledge.
