Metacast is a Tokyo-based Internet company that currently offers a total of four online video- and TV-related web services. Tagiri, Saguri, Terebi Burogu and its flagship product Mitter.
The company’s goal is to centralize consumer-generated metadata, which Metacast defines as “any kind of information based on activity and experience”.
Metacast’s newest product is Jingoo, a Firefox or Internet Explorer add on that serves as an application window on the right of your browser. In this so-called “Jingoo Zone”, users can play games, shop, view tweets etc. Jingoo is currently Japanese only (November 2009).
