Metabolex, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, engages in the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of type II diabetes and related metabolic disorders. The company’s products include MBX-102/JNJ 39659100, an oral small-molecule insulin sensitizer; MBX-8025, which is intended for the treatment of dyslipidemia; MBX-2982, which is an agonist of GPR119, a G-protein coupled receptor that is expressed in pancreatic islets and the gastrointestinal tract; and MBX-2044, a second generation insulin sensitizer.
