MergeLocal is a Mobile Application that pays users cash for spreading word-of-mouth about local businesses and brands through social networks.

Users simply download the free app, visit their favorite place and “check-in” - which posts to Facebook and/or twitter. The more networks the user posts to the more points they receive that redeem for cash.

For businesses, it just like setting an adwords campaign to increase their social word of mouth.
