A service developed by IceMobile, livecastr allows users to broadcast live video from their phones either via a software download to their phone, or if supported by the handset, making a video call to livecastr, who then archives the video. The service competes with other live-streaming-via-phone offerings from Mogulus, Qik, FlixWagon and Bambuser.

livecastr allows users to record video on their cell phone and broadcast live directly to the web. Video is recorded via a video call made from the user’s 3G-enabled cell phone, and can be pushed directly to either a player on livecastr.com or an embeddable video widget that can live on social networking sites like Facebook.
