Linklex is a general purpose collaborative search engine. Linklex allows searching the Web to find relevant results but unlike other search engines, it also allows to save, reuse, influence and share these results.
Linklex uses linklogs together with other collaboration tools. A linklog is a collection of links (hyperlinks) that the maintainer considers interesting. It is a type of blog where postings are limited to just one link per entry and a title. Optionally, some further description may be given. These collections of hyperlinks are listed in reverse chronological order. Instead, Linklex’ linklogs are listed or grouped by common keywords or “search terms”.
Linklogs are an ideal format to save search results. They are intuitive since people are already accustomed to interact with search results as a list of hyperlinks. Linklogs are also a way to reuse and share search results. Furthermore, they can be used to save bookmarks or favorites.
