Kicknote.com

Provides easy, organized navigation through all the information about online music available on Wikipedia, Flickr, Official Twitter Pages, Myspace and numerous other sites that contain band/artist info.

Kicknote.com is the world’s first music “browse engine.” Search engines, such as Google, provide a way for people to find very specific things about musical artists, whereas Kicknote is more geared toward browsing and discovery. Most artists have a huge amount of information and media related to them available online; the problem is that it is spread out across many different websites. Kicknote’s software aggregates and organizes this information from all across the internet, then makes it easily accessible via a simple universal navigation system. Thus, Kicknote fosters browsing through all facets of musical information for any given artist.

An artist’s profile on Kicknote contains links to their profiles and information on various other sites. Drawing from a multitude of different kinds of sites, Kicknote provides a portal to easily find anything you want about a given artist, as well as stumble upon some things that you may have not even known you wanted.

Once any link is clicked on an artist’s profile, the Kicknote Frame is launched. This frame provides universal, single-click navigation among all the different sites on which the artist has information. Pages simply low below the frame as the user browses between sites. This puts users in a position where they can easily find what they are looking for, but they are also free to explore other relevant content.

User ratings and reviews of the various sites on an artist’s profile page ensure that users can discover sites that interest them without wasting time. The best part about this system is that registered users can add relevant sites to an artist’s profile, which are then reviewed. This means that even relatively obscure sites that happen to have interesting and relevant content are brought to the surface, and users that may have never otherwise known these sites existed get a chance to browse them.

In addition, users are able to use the Kicknote Robot to submit new artists that are not yet in the Kicknote database. All that is necessary is to type in the artist’s name and click “go.” The Kicknote robot then scours the web for relevant information and media and returns a list of sites in seconds in the form of a newly created artist profile. This means that smaller acts and local bands can easily add themselves to the Kicknote database with essentially no effort at all.
