KDDI Web Communications started “shared type” hosting services as early as 1997 (then as CPI Inc.), making it one of the oldest hosting providers in Japan. It’s now a consolidated subsidiary of KDDI Corporation, the country’s second largest telecommunications with over $36 billion in revenues in 2008.
KDDI Web Communications focuses on hosting solutions for small and medium sized enterprises and now counts over 40,000 corporate clients and 7,000 resellers. The company is also running operations for website building service Jimdo on the Japanese market.
Other clients and partners of the company include Google Japan, NTT DOCOMO, Motorola Japan, Hitachi, or Daihatsu.
