Joyent is a global cloud computing software and service provider, offering cloud computing solutions worldwide since 2004.

Joyent licenses its cloud software to service providers, like Dell, FirstServer Softbank, XYBASE and Uniserve, who provide cloud services to their own customers, and provides public cloud services to some of the most innovative companies in the world, such as LinkedIn, Gilt Groupe and Kabam.

Joyent offerings also include Platform-as-a-Service based on Node.js, the open source server-side JavaScript development environment that has been embraced by enterprises and telcos around the world, including Microsoft and HP.

Joyent’s Smart Technologies provide operating system virtualization, which is different from all other major cloud vendors who are focused on hardware virtualization. Joyent’s approach provides applications with better performance and cost effectiveness due to higher application density and hardware utilization in our Smart Technology stack.
