Jackson Fish Market, founded by ex-Microsoft employees, creates “handcrafted software experiences”, or fairly small products with an emphasis on visual style and usability. In order to make money, each product is then branded by specific advertisers. As of November 2007, Jackson Fish Market has created They’re Beautiful!, a service that lets people send each other virtual flowers, Tafiti, a Silverlight-based Microsoft Live Search interface, and Invitastic, a simple invitations service.

Jackson Fish Market’s direct competitors vary with each product, but the overall company is similar in philosophy to 37signals.
