iversity

Since October 2013, iversity.org, the European platform for academic online teaching, offers Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

iversity supports universities and professors in seizing the opportunities that online learning offers. At iversity.org, professors can make their knowledge available online to thousands of students, while learners from around the world get access to high-quality educational learning materials and courses.

Courses are taught by renowned faculty from Germany and other countries across the globe, and are available without cost to students worldwide. Students get to choose from a variety of subjects – ranging from medicine, to computer science, from business studies, to physics, from law, to design and philosophy (see the full course catalogue at iversity.org/courses).

Open courses allow for more efficient forms of teaching and learning. Along with a state-of-the-art platform, using multimedia learning materials, direct feedback (automated and P2P) and interactive user forums, professors can create innovative teaching formats and students can participate in an engaging learning experience. iversity also works closely with the course professors from production to the final exam, providing the platform infrastructure, direction, and ongoing pedagogical feedback.

In some of the MOOCs at iversity.org, participants can receive ECTS credits that count towards offline studies and degrees. Although participating in all courses comes at no cost to the user, the exams that award ECTS credits are subject to a processing fee.

The company has received funding from BFB Frühphasenfonds Brandenburg, bmp media investors AG, Masoud Kamali, T-Venture and Marcus Riecke. Learn more about iversity at: www.iversity.org
