italki’s Facebook application allows Facebook users to engage in similar language learning opportunities available on italki.com like finding partners and groups, searching for answers to their questions, and finding/sharing resources for language learning. Application users can connect with their Facebook friends or other italki users on Facebook.

italki.com is an online language learning community, allowing users to engage in multiple activities focused on learning their language of choice after they set up a personal profile. Activities include finding partners and groups to practice new languages with, get answers to questions about new languages, and share and find resources to help them with their learning curve. The site currently offers 90+ languages, and the service is free to users.

italki competes with US-based startup LiveMocha, a company offering free courses in 6 languages as of January 2008.
