The Hamburg-based Intelligent Apps GmbH, was founded in June 2009. True to the motto “turning ideas into Smartphone applications” the company designs and develops Smartphone Apps, which is exciting for existing and new customers alike. Managing Directors are Niclaus Mewes and Sven Johannes Külper.
In March 2010 Intelligent Apps launched the application myTaxi through which you can order a taxi per click - without calling a switchboard germany-wide. The App is available for drivers and passengers one on each end.
myTaxi presents itself as an energetic, market-oriented Taxi-Service with steadily increasing sales figures. 300,000 downloads and a 5-star rating in the App Store has secured the App 1st place in the “Productivity†category and places Intelligent Apps GmbH in 3rd place on the Start-ups 2010 list. 5.000 taxi-drivers signed up with the myTaxi-service. Almost 300 Hotels and companies use our service at the reception.
The operating systems are based on iPhone, iPad, Android and Web.
So what´s next? „Germany is already taken, now we have to conquer Europe“ Nic Mewes says with a wink and look on the map. This is a view shared by the venture capital arm of Deutsche Telekom, T-Venture, the investment company e42 GmbH and the KfW Bankengruppe, all of which have invested in Intelligent Apps GmbH and, therefore, supported the development of myTaxi.

myTaxi is easy to use, convenient and a contemporary way to hail and book a taxi. Intelligent Apps GmbH is the provider of this innovative taxi booking system that enables a taxi-order via Smartphone Applications. The geo location of the passenger is determined automatically and the taxi within shortest range to the passenger is notified. Complementary features include access to information about the taxi, the driver, the time of arrival and expected fare price ahead of the actual taxi ride. Prior to the arrival of the taxi, the user can track its position on a map on his Smartphone. In addition to the innovative Smartphone Application, myTaxi’s software platform revolutionizes the entire taxi industry with its disruptive, automatic order process i.e. the direct contact to the taxi driver for the passenger and autonomy from traditional switchboard operations.
The software was launched in Hamburg in late March 2010. So far, about 5000 taxi drivers are already using myTaxi in Germany and Vienna. We generated 350.000 downloads.
