Howcast is a portal with professionally-shot instructional videos on a variety of subjects. It competes in a crowded marketplace with ExpertVillage, 5min, and Instructables. Howcast leverages content distribution deals with MySpace, Verizon, Joost, and ROO. The company was founded by three ex-Googlers who worked on Google Video and YouTube.
