HiT Barcelona

HiT Barcelona is an international summit that bring together CEOs, presidents, directors of innovation, businesspeople, entrepreneurs and investors from around the world to size up the latest international tendencies on innovation and technology, identify new commercial innovations, network with the international innovation community and formalize new businesses and investments.

Our inaugural event, HiT/GEC ’09, was attended by over 2000 delegates, 30% of whom were from outside of Spain. This year we would like to consolidate recognition of the summit as a leading international event, where entrepreneurs and investors meet and relationships are established. We are placing significant emphasis on involving the leading innovation centers and venture capital from around the world. We look forward to working with you to create an experience that is rewarding for you and all those that will gather with us in Barcelona this June.

First inaugural edition was a great success and accordingly this year’s event has been expanded. We will continue the Global Entrepreneurship Competition, with certain enhancements, and will be adding a Growth Company Showcase, with three industry concentrations: IT/Media, Health Care and Green Tech. It will be a wonderful celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation. The Nominating Committee selecting the start‐ups participating at GEC’10 and the ventures of the Growth Company Showcase will represent up to 25 of the leading centers of entrepreneurship and innovation from around the world.

The agenda of the world innovation and entrepreneurship week HiT 2010, which is expecting about 10,000 attendees, shall consist of 2 days each with 2 elements:

Wednesday 16th of June

1. Plenary Congress: focusing on Innovation and Management which will include high level presentations and debates featuring world renowned gurus and experts. The theory and practice of innovation at the hands of world business leaders and prestigious academics who will compose this Plenary, made up of the following panels: Social Network, Future, CleanTech, IT Public Services and R+D.
2. Symposium on Urban Clusters and Parks: with representatives from regions all over the world will feature and speakers and round tables on clusters and parks for excellence.

Thursday 17th of Jun

1. Ideas & Investment Marketplace and the The Growth Company Showcase, which will provide roundtables of different sectors, each one conducted by leading VC of the sector. This is a platform for sharing knowledge, new market trends, discovering investment opportunities and networking in three key sectors with important growth potential: CleanTech, Healthcare, IT &Media.
2. The Global Entrepreneurship Competition, a global competition with high potential start‐ups from over 20 countries. The Global Judge Committee, the TOP 25 of the major Venture Capital and Corporate Venture funds at a global level, will specify the winners.
