Heliatek is engaged in the development and production of organic solar cells.
Heliatek GmbH was founded in 2006 by Dr. Martin Pfeiffer, Prof. Dr. Karl Leo and Dr. Bert Mannig of the Institut for Angewandte Photophysik (IAPP), University Dresden, by Prof. Dr. Peter Bauerle of the Abteilung Organische Chemie II, University of Ulm, Jens Drechsel, CreaPhys GmbH and Dr. h.c Harald Eggers. The company relies on more than 15 years experience in the development and characterisation of organic materials and organic devices.
Heliatek has got a seed-investment of 500 000 from the High-Tech Gründerfonds and 100 000 from Dr. h.c. Harald Eggers.
