Gizmoz

Gizmoz is a community of photo realistic 3D animated avatars founded by Eyal Gever in 2003. Their service creates 3D avatars based off of a 2D profile photo.

User can customize the look of their avatar by purchasing accessories from the site. Like SitePal, Gizmoz can speak using text to speech audio synced to animations. These animations can be shared over the web through embedded video clips or posted to websites as “stickers”.

Gizmoz also has “answering machines” consisting of several celebrity avatars with real recorded messages.
