FriendsAbroad is a social network based on languages. The site has “millions of users” in over 200 countries speaking over 80 languages. It recently launched voice integration through Skype. Most users use the site’s free services, but Premium accounts (€15 a year) are also available. The site is initially being marketed in France, Germany, Italy and Spain. FriendsAbroad was founded by Simon Murdoch, a serial UK entrepreneur and the original head of Amazon UK.
