Firetide

Firetide is a provider of wireless infrastructure (outdoor and indoor Mesh nodes, Access-Points and CPE devices). The company targets the Public Safety market.

The solution is the de facto standard for enabling wireless video surveillance for police departments and municipalities worldwide. Customers include the Chicago “Virtual Shield” project, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Security System, the Dallas Police Dept., the Phoenix Police Dept., the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept, etc.

Because the solution can handle high performance video, it can also easily handle all other data types, thereby enabling multi-services wireless networks. A large example is the Jakarta, Indonesia city wide wireless network — the solution enables video surveillance as well as business and public access.
