FanSpan.com seeks to bring together fans from every walk of life. Utilizing a unique search feature and “Watch Site†locator, FanSpan.com allows users to find other sports fans by team, sport preference and zip code. Once logged-in, members can write blogs, upload photos and videos, create and join groups, and communicate with fans within the community. FanSpan.com’s mission is to connect sports fans across the world and provide the tools to communicate and congregate.
FanSpan.com has created a unique central hub to find places for viewing televised athletic events. Bars and restaurants that televise team-specific sporting events are categorized into Watch Sites. These establishments identify themselves as “friendly†to certain teams and their supporters. FanSpan.com identifies these Watch Sites which in turn allows a cheaper, easier and entertaining alternative when going to the game just isn’t possible. FanSpan.com relies on alumni associations, fan clubs, and user participation to verify Watch Site credibility.
