We all are very well aware of the major event that is occurring in India this year which is a very important event for our country. Yes I am talking about the COMMON WEALTH GAMES 2010. Common Wealth Games 2010 is a very prestigious event for our country as this is for the first time that CWG are held in India. Prior to this India got the privilege to host Asian games in 1951 and 1982. Common Wealth Games will be held in Delhi between 3rd October to 14th October. This is one of the largest multi-sport events, and it is the nineteenth edition of Common Wealth Games that our country is hosting in October 2010. Such kind of grand event is organised for the second time in Asia Due to the Common Wealth Games2010 Delhi many infrastructural changes have occurred in the city. In order to run the event smoothly new venues are being set up. On the eastern bank of Yamuna a village is to be constructed known as the Delhi Game Village in order to accommodate athletes and officials. Commonwealth Games venues: In order to host these events we need various Venues for different games. Below is the list of all the CWG venues. One of the major venues amongst all thecwg venues is: Jawaharlal Nehru stadium s the opening and the closing ceremony will be conducted here only • Athletics, lawn bowls, and weight lifting. These sports will be played at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium • Hockey is decided to be held at Dhyan Chand National Stadium • Archery, cycling, gymnastics, and wresting will be played at Indira Gandhi Arena • Venue for Rugby Sevens is Delhi University Sports Complex • Netball is decided to be played at Thyagaraj Stadium • Badminton and squash will be enjoyed at Siri Forts Sports Complex • Shooting is held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range • Boxing lovers need to visit Talkatora Stadium • Aquatics lovers need to visit SPM Swimming Pool Complex • Tennis will be played at RK Khanna Tennis Complex • Table Tennis is decided to be held at Yamuna Sports Complex
