The dynamics of ticketing has begun to evolve. However, much of the evolution simply focuses on the format of the bearer instrument with terms such as print-at-home, virtual ticketing, electronic ticketing and paperless ticketing. These concepts do not capture the exciting prospects made possible by Social Ticketing.
A software applications provider company, Event Innovation has created a social ticketing network - ‘Ovation‘ for season ticket holders, theater patrons and subscribers, and concert.
Ovation takes the best of paperless ticketing technologies and provides capabilities beyond those currently available in the sports and entertainment industry. By combining social networking technologies, a robust ticket management solution, and “requests for attendance”, with a free membership card event attendees can enjoy all the benefits of paperless ticketing without any of its challenges.
Ovation registration is Free to individuals, their friends and families. During sign up an individual only need present a valid credit card and address to validate their membership and receive a membership card
Members who purchase tickets from several major ticket providers will be able to have them electronically deposited into their Ovation.com account.
Within Ovation a member can manage several tickets and their associated events using an easy to use drag and drop interface. Personal or business contacts can be easily imported from Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail, Windows Live, Google, Linkedin and other social networks. By using “Request for Attendance” technology Ovation members can invite friends, family and co-workers easily to the event and determine who can attend. With a simple click of a button members can manage and transfer tickets to people they would like to attend.

When a member attends an event he/she simply presents event gate staff with an Ovation membership card, validates that the electronic ticket is in the member account and upon validation is given immediate access. Attendees will no longer have to stand in line to pick up tickets at will call or deal with the challenges of managing paper tickets or making phone calls to find out who can attend with them. The entire process is quick, secure and user-friendly and done within a closed network.
