Enterprise Holdings is driven to be in the car rental business’s driver’s seat. Through its Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alamo Rent A Car, and National Car Rental subsidiaries, the company owns and operates a fleet of more than 1 million passenger cars and trucks. It rents out its vehicles from more than 8,000 locations, most of which are based in airports and neighborhoods in North America, Europe, and Asia. It also operates a commercial truck rental business, as well as a car sales business that sells the company’s vehicles after it removes them from the rental fleet. Enterprise Holdings was formed in 2009 to combine Enterprise Rent-A-Car with its Vanguard Car Rental subsidiary (Alamo and National’s former parent).
