ENT-Surgical (http://www.ent-surgical.com), has developed the Myringoâ„¢ device, which is designed to enable the performance of Myringotomy and tube insertion in a Non-OR setting, under local anesthesia, within up to 40 seconds.
Ventilation tube insertion is a surgical procedure in which a small ventilation tube is inserted through an incision made in the eardrum, a procedure termed myringotomy. This incision allows proper drainage of fluid from the middle ear.
Myringotomy is the most common surgical procedure in pediatrics, with over 1.1 million procedures performed a year in the U.S. alone.
