Enpirion manufactures a growing line of Switch-mode DC-DC converters with integrated inductor, which sets their products apart from the competition. The layout and placement of the inductor is one of the most common reasons for power IC related failures and Enpirion solves this problem and reduces foot print, part count, and noise associated with switch-mode power conversion. Applications include high volume consumer products such as mobile phones, portable game players, MP3, and personal media players, as well as data networking, telecoms, user terminal equipment, and notebook/desktop PCs.
EP5352QI - 500 mA Buck Converter with Integrated Inductor
Product Highlights Tiny Solution Footprint Low Part Count Simple Layout, Easy Design Excellent Transient Response
Features Integrated Inductor 500 mA continuous output current 2.4 V to 5.5 V input range Up to 95% peak efficiency Excellent transient response, low ripple Requires two MLCC filter capacitors 3-pin VID output voltage programming 4 mm x 5 mm x 1.1 mm package Fully RoHS compliant and Pb-free manufacturing line compatible
The Enpirion EP5352QI represents a revolution in low-power switching converters. The total solution footprint is 36mm2, without compromising efficiency. Requiring two external components, the EP5352QI makes regulator design a breeze.
A complete power system-on-a-chip (PowerSoC), the EP5352QI integrates power switches, Inductor, gate drive, controller, and loop compensation in a tiny 5 mm x 4 mm package. The 1.1mm profile and small footprint enables the use of this part where space is at a premium.
The EP5352QI utilizes a 3-pin VID output voltage selector that allows the designer to choose one of seven pre-defined output voltage levels; or an external voltage divider can be employed to set the output voltage.
This product is an excellent choice for low-power mobile applications such as smart-phone, personal media player or PDAs.
