EmergencyLink is a free 24-Hour Emergency Response Service that helps you store your important information in one location, share emergency information with family and friends and has a 24-Hour Emergency Response center to aid you in an emergency.
On the EmergencyLink website, members identify the person(s) that should be contacted in the event of an emergency. In addition, members upload medical conditions, medical directives and other information that would be needed during or after an emergency.
Members are then provided with an identification card which includes a toll-free number and a unique member account number.
In the event of an emergency, the ID card instructs first responders to call the toll-free number where an EmergencyLink call center operator provides medical personnel with relevant information. In addition, the member’s emergency contact(s) are notified.
Members can designate which emergency contact has access to which records, therefore, in the event the member is in an emergency or killed the member’s medical, financial and estate information will be disseminated to the appropriate emergency contact. In addition, the service provides automated missing person reports.
