DrChrono.com is a software company specializing in healthcare, headquartered in New York City, NY. The company began in January 2009 by Daniel Kivatinos and Michael Nusimow. The first public announcement about the company was on CNBC early 2009.
The company’s first product was an online practice management platform, providing the core functions of any medical office, doing scheduling and billing. The platform is modular and can be used as a standalone or as a plug-in to other systems, for example EMR/EHR systems.
DrChrono.com will be providing an open API so that other software vendors can easily integrate their medical app services into the platform “medical app service store”. Doctors can simply add and remove apps as needed, using the DrChrono.com platform.
The company also provides a free medical search engine; plans to expand on the search engine are in works. The platform is built on start-of-art open source technologies, Linux, Python and MySQL.
Think of the companies base platform as like the iPhone, a solid foundation, simple, easy to learn, providing the core, “scheduling and billing”. There are new services always popping up and a doctor can add services as they come out via the app store.
