doormates is a New York City based startup that develops and launches social networking platforms to bring together people in neighborhoods and in residential apartment buildings. doormates uses proprietary technology to create private, secure networks that allow users to interact with each other in a safe environment.

doormates was created in order to facilitate interactions and foster relationships between neighbors in an urban landscape. It allows users to join or create private networks for buildings with access restricted to only building residents.

doormates was founded in 2011 by Josh Milstein and Matt Heiman. It currently has 4 employees and has launched in New York City.
