After working odd jobs for a little while, founder/CEO Ted Rheingold decided to follow an old dream by starting an online network for dog owners: Enter Dogster. Without any external funding, Dogster was launched in early 2004 by Rheingold and his team of passionate dog lovers (sister site Catster was launched only 5 months later). Soon after it went cash flow positive and after only 18 months it became profitable. With a pet population of over 400,000 (including catster) and celebrity pets such as Hilary Duff’s Dog Lola, Dogster has clearly become a heaven on earth for all dog owners. Users make profiles of their dogs through which they can share everything from pictures, video and old stories to more serious things such as advice about dog health or behavior in Dogster’s forums.

Login to Dogster to connect with other people obsessed with their pets. Upload all your digital dog media and share it with your friends or just strangers who have the same breed of dog. Dogster is a place where dog owners can talk all things DOG when everyone else is tired of hearing it. With many features you would expect with a social network for humans, Dogster is intuitive for the owner.
