Digital Reasoningâ„¢ Systems solves the problem of information overload by providing the tools people need to understand relationships between entities in vast amounts of unstructured and structured data.
Digital Reasoning builds data analytic solutions based on a distinctive mathematical approach to understanding natural language. The value of Digital Reasoning is not only the ability to leverage an organization’s existing knowledge base, but also to reveal critical hidden information and relationships that may not have been apparent during manual or other automated analytic efforts. Synthesys® is a registered trademark of Digital Reasoning Systems, Inc.

GeoLocatorâ„¢ from Digital Reasoning is a precision-based tool that will extract countries and populated places from unstructured text, while providing their respective geo-coordinates.
GeoLocatorâ„¢ unleashes accurate, flexible, cross-platform geolocation for any number of commercial applications by providing multiple interfaces and Web Services and Java APIs.
The GeoLocator product works out of the box with Google Earth and the NASA World Wind mapping tool and it can act as an input to pre-existing workflow and information stream using industry standard XML output.
In response to the direct needs and requirements of the intelligence community, Digital Reasoning has developed a location-focused solution based on our patented Digital Reasoning core intelligence engine that anyone can now use.

Synthesys® is an entity-oriented software solution that dramatically improves the productivity of analysts. It succeeds in this mission by distilling large sets of human language into organized facts and relationships.
Unlike most solutions that return a large batch of relevant documents, Synthesys focuses on entities (i.e. the people, places, and things) and provides tools that visualize the connections across the entire data set. Analysts can see “patterns in haystacks†of data and navigate between key actors and events across millions of documents or records.
Our technology serves anyone who wishes to leverage automatic discovery tools – from intelligence analysts and medical researchers to financial analysts and attorneys. Their tasks and requirements are as varied and different as yours. Our technology can help you mine your data, your way and discover the information you need.
Digital Reasoning tools work to give you freedom from this uncertainty. The results of analysis may not be useful if you don’t trust the results. Tools that reduce uncertainty improve your trust in the results and make the analysis more effective. Digital Reasoning builds models from the data without imposing an external static assumptions. Written communication contains naturally occurring flaws and unexpected features. Is the word misspelled or purposely evasive? Do “Tom Smith†and “Mr. Thomas Smith†refer to the same person? Is a “wedding†always what you think it is? These are some examples of problems Digital Reasoning Systems tools help solve.
Our flagship product is Synthesys® – a platform for data analytics which enables users/developers to easily create entity-oriented applications based on discovering and unifying meaning from vast amounts of structured and unstructured data from disparate databases and systems. Both our analyst’s tool, Navigator™, and our geo-tagging solution, GeoLocator™, were built upon Synthesys core technology. Synthesys also offers an SDK through the exposure of our KBQL API. More information on our KBQL API and developers kit are available here.
Synthesys features include state-of-the-art query augmentation, faceted navigation, contextual search, entity extraction, geotagging and entity resolution.
Some of the principal benefits of Synthesys is its ability to peer into documents and extract meaning, create a model from the data and to scale.
