By providing remote access to legal proceedings, Courtroom Connect empowers litigators to be more effective and more efficient.
Courtroom Connect was founded in July 2001 to provide courthouses with Internet connectivity, including Wi-Fi service. Today, Courtroom Connect still maintains connectivity in over 75 courthouses nationwide.
Over time, Courtroom Connect expanded its business to provide a full range of connectivity services, including video, audio, evidence, and text streaming, as well as videoconferencing for remote attendance at trials, hearings, depositions, and arbitrations.
The company is divided into two business lines - Content Services and Litigation Services.
Content Services The Content Services business streams audio, video, evidentiary exhibits, and text from courtroom proceedings, including trials, hearings, and oral arguments. The proceedings can be viewed from anywhere in the world, live or on-demand, via the websites of Courtroom Connect’s media company, Courtroom View Network. Courtroom Connect also provides law students with downloadable audio recordings of case opinions through AudioCaseFiles.
Litigation Services The Litigation Services business provides Internet access, video streaming, text streaming, and videoconferencing for law firms, court reporting firms, courts, and litigation support companies. Remote Counsel Stream is the underlying technology that provides video, audio, and text streams for legal events, while Speche provides text streams for non-legal events.
The Litigation Services business also maintains three videoconference networks with more than 400 public rooms worldwide for remote deposition taking, remote recruitment of law students, and remote attendance at arbitrations. The networks’ rooms include first-class deposition suites with high-definition videoconference equipment located in court reporting firms that also provide access to a full-range of related litigation services, as well as rooms in law schools and arbitration facilities.
