They have to generate revenue somehow, and since there is no advertising stream in game, they have to charge for memberships. They have to cover costs for the servers and moderators who make it safe for kids to play. The server cost alone are probably through the roof considering how many people play.

I agree with Irina. My penguin is a member but I feel bad for non members. They go and ern alot of coins and they don't get to spend it. Also like what Irina said they hunt for free items. Thats not fair for non members. I want non members to have the same fin as members. Like why can't they have a limit like only 3 shirts each new catolog. I think that is better than nothing at all.

All the non-members are saying that they want fare share of things. But if you think about it if there was no membership that means that clubpenguin couldn't make changes to site!

I love Club Penguin but i think that there should be a store for non members so they can have some stuff. They will not get as much stuff as members but it will at least give them something to spend their coins on. Also, members that have expired should be able to keep all of the stuff they bought because they PAYED for that stuff and they should keep it cause they did not only buy it with their coins but with their REAL MONEY. Please take this comment into consideration. Many more people would enjoy Club Penguin this way.

Hey, I wish all the people who ever were members and now are non-members, should keep their member clothing. We are able to keep the member puffles, but we are not allowed to keep our member clothing. I want to keep my member clothing!!!

Hi Clubpenguin, I think membership should be free because maybe some kids parents can't afford membership. And the kid just wants to have fun on the internet. Plus it makes the kid sad if they see members in all new clothes and saying to them "You can't be my friend because your a non-member". That'd make the kid sad. If you made membership free it'd make everyone happy and you'd get more people join Clubpenguin. Or when the membership becomes free make it so the kid has to play games and get a certain something before being able to be a free-member. And its a good way to stop cyber-bullying. I am a member, but I understand that non members want it do be free. But it's going to charity, and I think that it is very nice. I love Club Penguin, and I've been playing since the May last year. I have heaps of items, yet, unfortunatly, I am not a member. I know that that is pratically the only way to make money from this game, but their could be other ways too. I think Club Penguin should run a contest to see who has the best idea to make money from it, & they get to have free membership for, say, 2 - 3 years. That way Club Penguin will have heaps of ways to make money. If you want to be my friend on Club Penguin, look for me in 'South Pole' in Australia. I'm really cool, mind you.

Club Penguin is a very good site. Much better than Facebook or other virtual sites. It really does have great moderators and people. There is a large outbreak of mean people right now though; that's the only problem. Other than that, I pay 6.00 for a membership myself and it's great. It's worth the pay, people! =)
