Clipboard

Clipboard was founded by Gary William Flake in January 2011 with the simple goal of helping people save and share the parts of the Web that they care about.

Since the Web is over 20 years old, doesn’t it seem strange that the state-of-the-art for saving something from the Web has been to copy and paste it into an email? We think so, which is why we wanted to build something both simple and powerful to address this common need.

While our service is simple, we think our long-term vision for where this can go is actually pretty significant. Basically, we believe that every user of the Web will eventually have many thousands of clips from the Web that are personally precious and meaningful. Our vision is a world in which anyone can save and collaborate without the friction that we see today. And our mission is to help you to create, use, and organize your stuff.

Make no mistake about it: this is a big deal because it touches on the very future for how the Web can evolve and how users can interact with it. Because of the importance of these issues, we’d like to take a moment to explain our values as they pertain to the Web.
