Clickshare Service is a small, privately owned company based in the college town of of Amherst, Mass., which developed a solution for helping publishers and producers of news, video, audio and other intellectual property to get paid via subscriptions, advertising and “per-click.” The company was granted U.S. Patent No. 7,324,972 on Jan. 29, 2008: “Managing Transactions on a Network: Four or more parties.”
The Clickshare Authentication and Logging Service (CALS), will track user activity of specific users, while respecting whatever level of privacy or anonymity the user has requested, and offer the consumer the potential for a highly customized experience across a network of affiliated, yet independent, websites.
