|Description||Emergency Communications 2.0|
Contextual and actionable notifications are a right every citizen should have. CiviGuard is dedicated to changing the current emergency communications landscape by bringing location-aware, cloud-based and smartphone-optimized services to metropolitan citizens the world over.
Compared to conventional voice and SMS-based mass notification providers, the CiviGuard platform delivers messages an order of magnitude faster, shares valuable information to citizens even when the network is down and leverages social networks to build ad-hoc relief communities.
Information delivered by the CiviGuard platform must come from a trusted source, such as:
1) Your local Emergency Management agency; 2) A Federal Agency (e.g. DHS/FEMA/USGS); 3) A private company with a distributed campus; 4) A high-school or university campus; or 5) A sports franchise in need of innovative stadium evacuation solutions.
CiviGuard’s engineering team has invested thousands of hours into technology architecture, design and development to achieve new standards for performance, reliability and trust. We are the only provider in the world capable of running on a triple-replicated cloud infrastructure (Amazon, Rackspace and NASA Nebula).
Multi-touch interaction is central to our product design approach. Python, Django, Scala, Cassandra, Kestrel, SQLLite, C++ and HTML5 are some of the base technologies we leverage. We currently support iPhone, Android and Blackberry platforms. Our unique emergency communication platform is protected under UK patent application filed in August 2009 (pending).
CiviGuard was founded by graduates of Singularity University, a highly selective program sponsored by NASA and Google for future technology leaders. CiviGuard is supported by a world-class team of advisors from Stanford Medicine, MIT Complex Systems Research and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative and NASA.
