CircleUp is a social communications service for gathering information and answers from online and offline groups of any size. They offer a free service that allows users to use email or instant messenger services to ask a question or gather information from groups of any size and get back a single, organized answer.

With offices in Southern California as well as Bangalore, India, CircleUp aims to make group communications much more efficient. CircleUp is meant for large groups that exchange so much email and/or IM that people stop paying attention. The company claims they have about 10,000 users; they will need much more than that to prove to be a valuable service.

Part of the DEMO 07 class, CircleUp has also recently released an embeddable “MyQuestions” widget for web sites. CircleUp says the feature works on any web site, blog or social network; users can communicate with their group or audience right from their site.
