| Description | Consumer web products startup |
Ciafo is a technology startup based out of Bangalore, India. Founded in 2010, it primarily builds consumer web and mobile web products. Leveraging technology to build smart products is at the very core of Ciafo’s philosophy, duly reflected in the simplicity and intelligence that is deeply embedded in all of it’s products.
Ciafo’s flagship product Travelomy is a travel platform that seeks to re-define the way we plan, undertake and remember our trips. Travelomy is built around the belief that the right social, location and rich media components need to come together to build the kind of travel experience that a traveler truly deserves. Ciafo’s second product Wayr is a mobile app for Nokia devices. It is a simple utilitarian app that makes it makes it possible to share and track location in a device-agnostic manner. Ciafo’s third product is currently in development phase. It aims to create a brand new way for people to discover their cities in a social way. The invite-only alpha release is planned for first half of October 2011.

Frrole is a social newspaper built on top of Twitter. It analyzes Twitter data city by city, filtering out the noise and pulling out the most useful and popular tweets. These tweets are then algorithmically analyzed and categorized under different sections like Events, Sports, Deals etc., just as they would be in a traditional newspaper.
By doing so, Frrole creates a localized social newspaper, giving consumers virtually a brand new way of discovering more about their city.

Travelomy is a next-generation travel guide that leverages web 2.0 technologies to provide comprehensive travel information for South Asia. Covering 5 countries and approximately 5000 places and activities, Travelomy is a one-stop shop for planning travel anywhere across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
While online travel guides have existed for long, new entrant Travelomy challenges the status-quo by virtue of the way it leverages next-generation technology to provide better travel information. It focuses on three key aspects – rich content, geo-location and social media; and uses them effectively to build a truly valuable information source for the user.
Travelomy also differentiates itself in the way it collects and presents information. Almost all of the content on Travelomy is crowdsourced and can be updated by any user who is signed-in. There are no advertisements anywhere on the website, making it one of neatest User Interfaces that have come through in a very long time.
South Asia is the first step for Travelomy and an opportunity to validate its unique concept; it would gradually be expanding globally over the next few quarters.

Wayr is a comprehensive location update service that automatically leverages a combination of GPS & Cell ID and works across platforms using SMS as the method of delivery.
It is useful if you are travelling and want to keep your family informed about your whereabouts without having to call them up every hour. It is also useful for SMBs to keep track of their consignments or mobile staff without having to use costly GPS devices. As it involves location sharing over SMS, Wayr is especially handy when the users do not have a smartphone available.
