Careerjet is a vertical search engine specialising in jobs. The company is privately held by co-founders and executive managers Thomas Busch and Jean-Benoit Andrieu. Launched in France in August 2000 under the brand name Optioncarriere, Belgium and Switzerland were launched in 2001 along with the Spanish version Optionempleo, followed by the UK version Careerjet in April 2002. The most recent launches in 2008 have added Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia to Careerjet’s international network.
Careerjet’s semantic analysis technology makes it possible to index job offers from a theoretically unlimited number of websites independent of their underlying structure, design or language. The result of this advanced technology is a daily updated index of more than ten million jobs.
Careerjet’s international network of job search engines index employment opportunities in over 50 countries and in 20 languages. The interface and job listings are localized to each country’s site. Careerjet receives over one million unique users per day.
Careerjet also features a Web Publisher program and an automatic programming interface (API), which enables businesses and webmasters to use Careerjet’s search capabilities from within their websites.
