Capture Your Flag interviews tomorrow’s leaders today, providing early to mid career professionals a more approachable means to develop aspirational careers.
Capture Your Flag was founded and is hosted by New York City entrepreneur Erik Michielsen. Michielsen applies “knowledge video near-peer learning” that focuses on developing leader real time education rather than reflective expert led education. Interviewees are selected based on a number of criteria, including momentum, sincerity, commitment, and purpose.
Interviews are segmented into individual videos by question and then categorized and curated by aspirational career development theme as well as by industry. This provides a cross-sectional compare and contrast experience. Interviews repeat annually, providing a longitudinal experience, inspired by Michael Apted’s “Up Series” to understand in real time how aspirational careers develop and what are the inputs into the decisions and actions shaping them.
As of May 2011, there are 65 Capture Your Flag interviewees in rotation and over 1200 knowledge videos.
